Often quoted as being one of the most formidable acts to emerge from the 1960s progressive rock scene, Caravan have managed to achieve cult status and have maintained a passionate and diehard following. Originally formed in Canterbury in 1968, they were at the heart of the 1970s burgeoning Canterbury rock movement.
Blue Devils Ellington Band was founded in 1989 by lecturer, stride pianist, arranger and Ellington scholar Keith Nichols, the band uses the UK’s leading period musicians on every instrument. The band specialise in recreating the emotional range of Duke Ellington’s music of the 1920s and 30s (especially the legendary five-year Cotton Club residency), playing such masterpieces as Black and Tan Fantasy, Mood Indigo, Solitude and Black Beauty.
A welcome return by the Kast Off Kinks who were put together in 1994 by Mick Avory, original drummer of The Kinks. With Jim Rodford on bass (1970s, 80s and 90s line-up) and Ian Gibbons on keyboards (1980s and 90s line-up), Mick is joined on guitar and vocals by Dave Clarke who has played with the Beach Boys, the Noel Redding Band and Tim Rose among others.
