Recording Projects
Studio Manager John Bowman works with the youth services in Northamptonshire to provide opportunities for young people aged 9-13 to create, rehearse, record and perform their own songs. A typical project will see a series of creative workshops taking place in a school/youth club setting culminating in a day-long recording session at The Stables and with a performance opportunity.
Soundz (2003-4) and Resonate (2004-5) were both collaborative projects with the Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs and were made possible by substantial grants from Youth Music. Together these projects enabled over 400 young people to create songs in their own musical voice, build self-esteem and perform in front of others. The projects also provided opportunities for trainee technicians to develop skills in musicianship and production.
