Song Writing Masterclass with Beth Nielsen Chapman
Songwriting Masterclass With Beth Nielsen Chapman

For the first time in the UK, Beth Nielson Chapman gave one of her much sought-after songwriting workshops. Entitled “Creative-Flow”, Songwriting, & Finding Your Voice,
The workshop focused creativity and the processes that can be used to release it.
Over 50 songwriters, from newly emerging artists to established professional songwriters, benefited from her unique and inspiring teaching style. Participants also got feedback on their songs in a Master Class format and advice on how to take it to the next level.
Beth’s approach to writing is all about freeing the creative spirit. The workshop looked at how to disengage from "thinking" during the beginning of the creative process, increasing the chances of inspired originality. The workshop then looked at the second phase of the writing process - the process of re-writing, analyzing and editing, when the brain is more called into action. Through teaching techniques as well as critiquing songs offered as examples by the participants, Beth illustrated how to dance between spontaneity and structure, both lifting off and staying in one's center as the writing of a song unfolds.
