Stage 2

The Next Stage is a phased programme of major capital projects over a three year period to enhance and increase facilities for performers, educational participants and audiences. After much planning, fundraising and months of building work The Stables is delighted to announce that the first phase of our Next Stage programme has been successfully completed with the opening of Stage 2 - our brand new second performance space and café-bar. Stage 2 is generously sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

The official opening ceremony of Stage 2 took place on September 12th 2007and since then the intimate venue has successfully hosted an array of acoustic, jazz and comedy events. Click here for more information on events in Stage 2.

The Next Stage programme is by its very nature ambitious and this autumn we not only celebrate the successful completion of the first element of the Next Stage programme, marking the start of an exciting new chapter in The Stables’ history, but also formally mark the beginning of the second phase of the Next Stage programme – Cultivating Creativity.

Cultivating Creativity will incorporate a programme of audience and participatory initiatives and additional capital improvements implemented in phases between 2007-2009. During this second phase we need to replace our grand piano and invest in new keyboards for Stage 2 and The Stables’ education programme. One of the first capital improvements will be the creation of a new sensory courtyard garden.
