Cara Dillon
Cara Dillon’s crystalline vocals have been winning her acclaim ever since she won the All Ireland Traditional Singing Trophy at the age of 14. Her solo albums have had astonishing critical success and she's been showered with accolades including two BBC Folk Awards. Born in 1975 in County Derry, Cara grew up in a close, musical family. Whilst she was still a teenager she went on to sing with Oige, De Dannan and then Equation. It was in this band that she met her husband and musical collaborator Sam Lakeman. The combination of Cara's expressive vocals with Sam’s lyrical piano and fresh production squeezed new life into ancient material and their partnership has developed a distinct musical identity of their own that has led to chart success with There Were Roses and Never In A Million Years.
