Mott The Hoople’s Ian Hunter has been cited as a major inspiration for numerous bands including the Clash, Kiss, Def Leppard, REM, Blur and Oasis. Hunter's influence is incalculable; he’s been accompanied on stage by Axl Rose, Slash, Roger Daltrey and Bryan Adams at their request and there are now cover versions of his songs from artists as diverse as Great White, Status Quo, Blue Oyster Cult, Bonnie Tyler, Barry Manilow, The Pointer Sisters, Willie Nelson and The Monkees - further evidence that he is one of our greatest-ever songwriters.
