Kate Walsh
24-year old singer/song-writer Kate Walsh recently captured the number one slot on iTunes UK Hot 100 albums with Tim’s House. With her number one here and Top 10 iTunes across Europe, followed by a number one on the US iTunes Folk Chart, Kate quickly became the talk of the global music industry, leap-frogging over established artists such as Kaiser Chiefs, Arcade Fire and Amy Winehouse through the massive word-of-mouth digital buzz.
Taking in the subsequent rush of music industry interest, Kate decided the best move was to license her album through Mercury Records. She now plans to release Your Song on CD in September backed with an exclusive new track, Here I Go Again. Her album, Tim’s House, is available now as a download and also gets a physical release in September.
Kate Walsh has carved out a unique niche with web listeners and portable music fans around the globe. Her direct but sweetly-delivered songs have resulted in her being one of the most talked about new artists in the business. A classically trained pianist and accomplished guitarist, she has also been drawing comparisons to female song-writing giants such as Joni Mitchell.
With support from Jon Allen.
“The buzz around this engagingly fledgling talent is patently justified.” The Guardian
