The Navarra and Sacconi Quartets gave their first concert together in early 2008 to a packed Wigmore Hall where these two outstanding young quartets played Mendelssohn’s passionate Octet. Here, the Octet is joined by Brahms’s two string sextets – both masterpieces of the repertoire – to form a remarkable programme. The Navarra’s were formed in 2002 at the Royal Northern College of Music, and the Sacconi’s in 2001 at the Royal College of Music in London. Both Quartets have one top prizes in international competitions.
