Musician, actor and writer Richie Havens’ fiery, poignant soulful singing style was born out of the Greenwich Village folk scene of the early 1960s. His lyrical themes exploring brotherhood and personal freedom lead to an unforgettable appearance at Woodstock, and later to an appearance at President Clinton’s Inauguration in 1993. Collaborations with Peter Gabriel and the Groove Armada have subsequently brought his music to the attention of a new generation.
