Mozart Quartet in C K.465 Dissonance, Nielsen Quartet in G minor Op.13, Beethoven Quartet in E flat Op.127
This young Danish string quartet is renowned for its powerful impact onstage and fresh approach to well-known repertoire. Here they perform Mozart’s famous Dissonance Quartet, which takes its nickname from the tense harmonies that open the piece. The energetic and dramatic Quartet in G minor is considered to be the milestone at which Nielsen reached his prime as a string quartet composer. In Beethoven’s late, great Quartet in E flat each part has equal importance, creating a totally new sound world to that of his previous quartets.
