Tristan und Isolde: A Screened Performance Glyndebourne Opera Company
In this Wagner centenary year, don’t miss Nikolaus Lehnhoff’s exquisite retelling of the great and tragic love story Tristan und Isolde, which first appeared at the Glyndebourne Festival in 2003. Filmed live in 2007, this acclaimed production stars Nina Stemme as Isolde and Robert Gambill as Tristan, with Jirí Belohlávek conducting the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Glyndebourne Chorus. Glyndebourne cinema screenings are a great opportunity to try opera, either in general or to see a specific production you wouldn’t otherwise have chosen.

“I don’t think I have ever witnessed a more perfect realisation of a Wagner opera than this superb Tristan und Isolde” Rupert Christiansen, The Daily Telegraph

The screening lasts approximately five hours 20 minutes with a one hour lunchbreak and 15-minute interval between Acts 1 and 2.

Performed in German with English subtitles
