Olivier Award-winning OperaUpClose present this new opera, inspired by Homer’s Odyssey. Ulla’s Odyssey follows a feisty 14-year-old girl as she attempts to become the youngest person to sail the world single-handedly.

Inspired by real life teenagers such as Laura Dekker, Ulla’s Odyssey has an inspirational heroine, playful references to classical literature and pop culture and a strong environmental message.

It explores issues of human impact on the natural environment as well as personal responsibility and friendship.
Performed by five singers, two instrumentalists, four instruments and a puppet cat.
