Debashish Bhattacharya
Debashish Bhattacharya is an Indian musician, renowned for his compositions on slide guitar. His technical prowess allows him to play complex passages at blistering speeds. He first began strumming a guitar at age three and at the age of nine he left his parents for ten years to study under the pioneer of Indian slide-guitar Pandit Brij Bhushan Kabra. He invented his own slide-guitars, unique to his compositions, which he calls the Trinity of Guitars and his originality as a musician has earned him global admiration. See below for a short video, just press play.
“He uses a unique three-finger picking technique that gives him lightening speed and creates hypnotic flurries of notes that it would take a battery of special effects to produce from a western Guitar. The results are as beautiful as they are extraordinary.” The Times
